Helado Negro has announced his new album, Phasor, with a video for the new song “LFO (Lupe Finds Oliveros).” The follow-up to 2021’s Far In is due out February 9 via 4AD. Check out the full Phasor tracklist and the video for “LFO (Lupe Finds Oliveros)” below.

For his new song, Helado Negro’s Roberto Carlos Lange drew inspiration from Lupe Lopez and the minimalist composer Pauline Oliveros. Lopez was a Mexican American woman who worked for Fender Guitars, building amplifiers in the 1950s. “Lupe’s amps are sought after, her care and touch apparently harnessed a special sound from this design,” Lange explained in a statement. “I fell in love with this story and this legacy and the mythology surrounding it. How craft touches us so deeply in the smallest ways. Deep care for the littlest things makes all the difference.”

Additionally, Helado Negro has announced a world tour, including sets at Pitchfork Music Festivals Paris and London. After finishing up a European leg primarily in Spain this fall, he returns to North America for a long run of U.S. dates. It begins on February 9 in Atlanta, Georgia, and will wrap up on May 4 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Find the complete list of tour dates below.
