Lana Del Rey has just shared a surprise one-off cover of the John Denver standard “Take Me Home, Country Roads.” She made the song with producer Zachary Dawes. Give it a listen below.

This fall, Del Rey went on a U.S. tour focusing on the South and Appalachia. The run ended in West Virginia’s capital, Charleston. And, on Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd’s “The Grants,” Del Rey sings twice, “Like ‘Rocky Mountain High,’ the way John Denver sings.” The musician recently covered another American classic, “Unchained Melody,” performing it at Graceland for a televised holiday special.

In 2024, Del Rey could pick up her first Grammy win. She’s up for Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Alternative Music Performance, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, and Best Alternative Music Album. The nominations are largely for Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd and the single “A&W.”
