Bad Bunny, the first of the three Coachella 2023 headliners, returned to the festival grounds on Friday night, April 21 for Weekend 2 following his previous history-making set. His setlist pulled heavily from 2022’s Un Verano Sin Ti, revisited 2020’s YHLQMDLG, and included his massive Cardi B collaboration, “I Like It.” Bad Bunny also invited fellow artists onstage to join him for “Yonaguni” (José Feliciano), “La Jumpa” (Arcángel), “Dákiti” (Jhayco), and “Safaera” (Jowell y Randy). Grupo Frontera also performed three songs with him, including the live debut of their new single, “Un X100to.”
Bad Bunny is the first Latin or Spanish-language artist in the history of Coachella to headline the festival. Last weekend, he was joined by Jowell y Randy, Ñengo Flow, Jhayco, and Post Malone across two hours and more than two dozen songs. During Gorillaz’s Weekend 2 set, not long before he took the stage himself, Bad Bunny put on a face mask and joined Damon Albarn and company for “Tormenta,” from last year’s Cracker Island.
During Bad Bunny’s April 14 Coachella performance, a message appeared on the screen behind him that seemed to hint at a beef between him and former Coachella headliner Harry Styles. “goodnight benito could do as it was but harry could never do el apagon,” it read. A representative for the Puerto Rican rapper later told told Rolling Stone that while the artist declined to comment, Bad Bunny did not approve that image.
During his Weekend 2 headlining concert, a different image appeared on the screen behind Bad Bunny, reading: “Sorry Harry. It was a mistake from my team. We love you. <3,” as Billboard points out. Several fans posted a photo of the message on social media.
